Day One Thousand, Six Hundred and Ninety Nine

Hi Viewers,

Happy MLK Day!! It’s always such a beautiful day. Today, I got to volunteer with my Tufts family. It was a little nerve wracking because I knew absolutely no one doing it at first. But, we all bonded over a mural joy of volunteering and I truly met the most delightful people. The type of people that light up when you talk about finding an extra crayon to slip into the first aid package you’re making or that you finally tied the perfect bow on your Valentine’s Day card. My new friends and I furiously tore through the book of further suggested service activities to make plans for future outings and I felt hopeful. Hopeful because that’s really what MLK Jr. day is about in my opinion. Not necessarily packing twelve little bags, but reigniting your love and passion for joining in with the community and engaging to build each other up. Always grateful, but today, especially so.
