Couldn’t be more true that life is about the journey, not the destination. Today I was about 2.5 hours early for my flight when my dad proposed taking a small detail. The strict part of me said no, but the thrill seeker quickly agreed. There we were — flying down the highway in the dark on the way to the naval yard. Once there, we watched the beauty of the sea and the giant aircraft carriers floating atop it. It was utterly breathtaking. Not only was the little jaunt exciting, but more time I got to spend with him listening to Carol King — all in all, ecstatic that my adventurous side said yes.
