Day One Thousand, Six Hundred and Twenty

Hi Viewers,

I wrote a French paper about my family tree this week, and initially it was hard. If I thought I couldn’t talk about my grandmother in the past tense in English, I definitely couldn’t in French. But, the most wonderful thing happened, I realized that I didn’t have to. I talked about her like I saw her yesterday – about her resilience and her character and her overflowing joy for life. I talked about how she’s similar to my mom and how I’m similar to my mom and just felt elated that her legacy will live on for generations to come. I felt ecstatic that her spirit of perseverance and beauty will continue to define our family line for centuries.

You’ve always got to look for the smiles and somehow extract hope from every situation, if you can 😘😘 I believe in you!

XOXO. S.
