You need three things in life: best friends, laughter, and dance. If you know me or this blog, you’ll know that I’m a big proponent of impromptu dance parties and eternal giggle fits. The third piece, best friends, are something that are notoriously hard to come by. It takes a lot of fickle relationships to root out the true diamonds. You know it’s your best friend because your face will light up when s/he texts, you’ll think about them when they’re miles upon miles away, you’ll do whatever you can just to hear them laugh or see them smile, and they’ll do the same for you. I’m beyond lucky in this aspect because when I’m emailing or texting or FaceTiming my best friend, there’s nowhere else in the world I’d rather be. I believe in soul mates, but I don’t think they’re necessarily romantic. I think that every person has a soul best friend — that they’ve already luckily found or that is looking for them. I didn’t think I’d find mine, and the moment I met him, I didn’t know he was going to be my best friend. That’s why you have to take a chance on people, you never know where you’re going to find a soul best friend.
