Hi Viewers,
A follow up on my honest look at what college is like — it’s been amazing so far. The people that I got the chance to be surrounded with this week are some of the best that I know. We all have different interests and majors but we united to bring a smile to the faces of the older members of our community. Every single individual in our 10 person group has unique attributes that make me feel lucky to know them. Each new chapter in life is scary and I think that we have a tendency to believe that we can’t do as much as we really can. For instance, I’m nervous to go into orientation for real when I’ll no longer be solely surrounded with a group that has come to feel like my best friends. However, I know that tomorrow night, I’ll write to you all having conquered yet another fear. Too often we underestimate ourselves, but you can do it. You can conquer that fear or embrace that new friend or do something that pushes you just a little out of your comfort zone – especially if you are surrounded by some beautiful people.
“To be a champion, I think you have to see the big picture. It’s not about winning and losing; it’s about every day hard work and about thriving on a challenge. It’s about embracing the pain that you’ll experience at the end of a race and not being afraid. I think people think too hard and get afraid of a certain challenge.” Summer Sanders
