Day One Thousand, Four Hundred and Twenty Five

Hi Viewers,

You know those events where everything goes absolutely perfectly?! Like the epitome of the phrase “off without a hitch”? Before tonight, I’ve never had an event run so smoothly. All of the club members got there early, the pizza arrived early, my favorite custodian was working and helped us set up all of the tables and the chairs, the Project HOME residents arrived at the perfect time, the kids who are usually too shy got the courage to speak, the kids that love to talk (like me) also got a chance to shine, the residents were super kind and we talked right until we brought them into the dress rehearsal, the theater company at our school stood at the door and welcomed and handed out playbills to only the residents, and then we watched the amazing show and sent the residents home with a fond farewell. I just don’t have any words to describe it.

For those of you that don’t know, Project HOME is an organization based in Philly that works to break the cycle of homelessness by the letters in their acronym: H.O.M.E. Housing, opportunities for employment, medical care, and education. I can’t rave about this organization enough. They offer summer programs which I’ve had the pleasure of attending where we get to meet the residents but until today, none of our club members had the same privilege. Finally, after two years of planning and working towards the meeting, our dream was put into action and came to fruition. Sweet

“None of us are home until all of us are home” Project HOME 😊😊

Sweet Dreams!

XOXO. S.
