Day One Thousand and Fourteen

Hi Viewers,

Tonight, for my monthly Peace Walk meeting, I headed to a mosque in Philadelphia! These meetings are one of the highlights of my month because I’m able to talk to people of all faiths and get their opinions on the different things happening around us. After the election, with all of the turmoil in the air, unfortunately the Muslim community has been negatively portrayed and judged just because of their awesome religion! Therefore I felt a little nervous going to the mosque because I know that a lot of them have been targets for negativity lately. As I was there I realized something astounding, if I was nervous just being in a mosque, I realized how truly scary it must be to be a part of the wonderful Muslim faith at this moment constantly being disparaged by people like our president. I am hoping that maybe you could all remember to just be a little more tolerant and kind to everyone around you because you don’t know what’s going on in their lives or what fears or daily obstacles they might encounter. It’s especially important in my opinion for everyone to stick up for one another and to understand that all of our differences make up the beautiful, unique world we live in and we’re all in this together ❤️

XOXO. S.
